First Baptist has a
rich tradition in handbell ringing. We have two 5-octave
sets of handbells available
to our choirs.
The adult handbell choir, Sanctuary Ringers, is led by
Loyd Lott, Organist/Carillonneur at FBC since 1968. The group meets for
rehearsal on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. and performs on a regular basis in
worship services including the "Sounds of Christmas." |

 The youth handbell group led by Johnny Glover, Associate
Pastor for Worship & Prayer, meets for rehearsal on Sundays at 4:00 p.m.
They perform in worship services and during the "Sounds of Christmas" as
well as performing during YouthMUSIC tour each summer. They have also
performed at Driscoll Children's Hospital during the Christmas season.Our children ring choir chimes and children's bells in their music portion of Wednesday evening children's choir activities at 6 p.m. They are led by Judy Mellenbruch and Mary K. Fant.
