Dominican Republic Mission Trip
Group Builds Chapel in Dominican Republic
March, 2006

Several families from First Baptist Church went to the Dominican Republic on a short-term mission trip in March, 2006. This group was able to build a "chapel" in a remote, poor village for an established church that had no building in which to meet. The trip was hosted by TIME Ministries. TIME Ministries specializes in leading short-term groups to the mission field where they help nationals build local churches through evangelism, construction, and discipleship. It is their belief that at this point in history, every person in an evangelical church in North America can go on a mission trip at least once in his or her life. FBC member, Doretta Brown and her late husband, Zeral, founded TIME ministries in 1968 (see www.timeministries.org). Another trip is being planned for 2007.

Eleven adults and eleven children went to Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic to build a chapel with TIME Ministries.
Everyone wants to go back!

We saw God at work,
answering many prayers that went before us.

We worked along side our Dominican brothers and sisters.

Our children were a big hit with the Dominican children.
We were blessed by the many children who responded
to the Jesus Film and puppet ministries.
