First Baptist School was established in 1970 as a ministry of First Baptist Church. The vision of our school is to meet each student’s physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs.

Spiritual needs
We currently have classes for children age 2 through 8th grade. A licensed day care program provides before & after school care. A summer recreational and enrichment program is offered every June through mid-August.

Curriculum
The First Baptist School’s curriculum is based on the eternal truth found in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten
The preschool and pre-kinder programs are developmentally appropriate, and are based on a nurturing atmosphere that allows for social development and independence to enhance natural abilities. Math and reading readiness activities are taught along with Bible stories about God’s love. This program includes visits to the computer lab, music room, chapel and PE.

Kindergarten
The Kindergarten classes present an academic preparation program with a strong emphasis on phonics and math readiness. Students also participate in computer class, music, Bible class, chapel and PE.

1st-8th Grades
The curriculum for grades one through eight meets high academic standards enhanced with Biblical principles. The textbooks and programs selected are consistent with the school’s vision statement. Students will participate in computer class, music, Bible class, chapel and PE. Class size is limited to 18 students. Many field trips are planned.
