| Mexico Orphanage Ministry . . . |
The Mexico children's home, Casa Hogar de Ninos, Carmargo A.C., is
located across the border from Rio Grande City, TX. For the past few
years, Pastor Osdy Luna and Maria Luna have been running a home for
abandoned street children from three counties in Mexico. Currently there
are 25 children at the home ranging from 2 to 17 years of age. The Lord
has blessed this effort with a building and with this caring couple;
this Children's Home functions completely on donations. FBC has been
involved with this effort and continues to find ways to help minister to
these children as well as to the leadership of this orphanage.
The children of the Casa Hogar orphanage were the happy
recipients of a Christmas party on December 15, 2007, provided by seven
participants in the Judea area mission group. A mini Posada was held,
followed by a pinata, hot chocolate, and Christmas cookies prepared by
First Baptist Church W.M.U. members. After refreshments, the children
received gifts--coats provided by Adult V Sunday School members and toys
and gifts provided by Adult IV Sunday School members, Elnora Corbin's
Sunday School class, and a generous donor. Pictured are some of the
children opening their packages. Many thanks to all who participated in
providing a merry Christmas for these children.

A blessed dental mission trip to Camargo, Mexico, was made in October,
2006, by a group composed of a dentist, orthodontist, nurse, lay church
members and friends. Patients were registered, mouths were checked and
recommendations made. Assistance was also given in the dental office and
with translation. Our nurse took blood pressures and gave out stickers
to the children from the Casa Hogar de Ninos (Children's Home) of Camargo. All
patients received hygiene bags, a toothbrush, a gospel tract in Spanish
and toothbrushing lessons from our nurse and orthodontist. Church
members supplied the hygiene supplies and toothbrushes.
