| Matamoros Mexico . . . |
| Several FBC members recently participated in the birth of a new church in Matamoros, Mexico. On April 26, 2008, a recognition service was held at Belen de Judea Baptist church in Matamoros signifying their change in status from mission to church. First Baptist presented the church a beautiful certificate of congratulations and received a lovely plaque from the new church with thanks for our provision of property for them. The service was followed by lunch provided by the new church. | ||||

| Happiness and better vision were brought to a number of residents of Matamoros, Mexico, on Saturday, May 19, 2007, as a group of workers from First Baptist spent the day checking vision, reading prescriptions, and providing glasses for those who came to Belen de Judea Baptist Church. Spiritual counseling was also provided by the church's pastor, Manuel de la Cruz. Workers enjoyed visiting with new and old friends who came to the vision clinic. Future plans include returning to Matamoros for another vision clinic later this year. | ||
